A Festive Celebration of Janmashtami
Today, the down town School hosted a special assembly to celebrate Janmashtami, a cherished festival that highlights the values of devotion, joy, and community. The event was wonderfully organized by Varun House and Agni House, showcasing the students' talents and enthusiasm in a series of delightful activities.
The assembly began with a beautiful prayer song, setting a serene tone for the celebration. Nibedita Dutta of Grade-IV, offered a heartfelt prayer, followed by Rishikesh Haloi of Grade-II shared the "Word of the Day," adding a touch of inspiration to the gathering. The pledge was then recited by Jarnav Mazumde of Grade-V, further uniting everyone in the spirit of the occasion.
Rajlaxmi Phukan of Grade-IV, delivered an engaging speech on Janmashtami, explaining its significance and the rich traditions associated with it. This was followed by a vibrant dance performance by students from both Agni House and Varun House, capturing the festive spirit and energy of the day.
One of the highlights of the assembly was the traditional Dahi Handi, performed by our Nursery to Senior Kindergarten students. Their spirited participation made the event both entertaining and joyful. Principal Ms. Maya Alfred Fernandes addressed the students, sharing her thoughts on the importance of such cultural celebrations in our school community.
The assembly continued with the distribution of the Students of the Month certificates, recognizing the hard work and achievements of our students. The event concluded with offering a vote of thanks by Aaryav Adhikary of Grade - IV, followed by a patriotic recitation of the National Anthem.
It was a memorable and festive celebration of Janmashtami, reflecting the spirit, unity, and enthusiasm of our school community.
